Visit the Wells Fargo History Museum, the Arizona Latino Arts and Cultural Center, or the Phoenix Center for the Arts to gain a deeper appreciation of the Valley of the Sun. Downtown Phoenix is home to the Encanto-Palmcroft Historic District and Roosevelt Historic Neighborhood, both of which are ideal locations for a leisurely walk through tree-lined streets to view the architectural history of the area. Inside these villages are regions, districts, and neighborhoods. Phoenix is divided into urban villages, several of which are historic communities that were annexed by the city throughout its growth. This desert burg has seen steady growth since the middle of the 20th century, which makes it an excellent mix of Wild West history, boomtown relics, and modern amenities. Hop on a bus or shuttle, or rent a car for maximum wanderlust indulgence.
